The first meeting
During their freshman year at AUP (Adventist University of the Philippines), Vanesa and Alberth met as nursing students and ended up in the same class.
Over time, their social circles intertwined, leading to Vanesa learning about Alberth's crush on her through his roommate and best friend, Reyn. Reyn couldn't resist mentioning how he thought Vanesa was quite pretty, which made Vanesa realize Alberth's feelings for her.
Alberth left AUP
Alberth left AUP to study overseas and, in a text conversation before his departure, promised her that he would bring back white chocolate when he returned, a promise she couldn't recall being made.
They met again
Upon returning home, Alberth opted to study at a different college. Coincidentally, he crossed paths with Vanesa on his way back from AUP, where he had gone to take care of some necessary documents for his transfer to another college. However, Vanesa ignored him, claiming without sufficient evidence, he was stalking her 🤨
They rekindled
Seven years had passed with no communication until Vanesa broke the silence by commenting on Alberth's Instagram story, "Oy taba mo na ah," teasing him about his newfound muscles after six months of hitting the gym. This sparked a conversation between them, leading to frequent conversations on Messenger and Instagram. At that time, Alberth was in the UAE, while Vanesa was in Saudi Arabia.
Alberth started courting
Alberth traveled to Saudi Arabia for a work-related project but unfortunately missed meeting Vanesa. They returned to the Philippines in December, coincidentally at the same time when Vanesa's contract ended and Alberth went on his annual vacation. They finally met in person after 8 years. Following a couple of dates, Alberth confessed his feelings to Vanesa and expressed his clear intention to be her lifelong partner. Vanesa got so kilig to the bones but tried to hide it, albeit ineffectively (Alberth's POV🤫).
Alberth got a no-go
When vacation came to an end, Alberth returned to work in the UAE, while Vanesa remained stuck in the Philippines due to travel restrictions caused by the pandemic. As they spent more time getting to know each other on a deeper level, Vanesa eventually expressed her desire to stop communicating with Alberth due to some core differences she had realized. Alberth respected her decision and began the process of slowly moving on.
Vanesa got sad
Vanesa found herself feeling missing Alberth dearly 😂, prompting her to initiate conversations with him once more after few months, even if they were about mundane topics, in hopes of rekindling his fading interest, albeit temporarily. 🤣. Alberth, on the other hand, was puzzled by the sudden resurgence of renewed attention.
Alberth and Vanesa became a couple
After weeks of renewed communication, Vanesa finally agreed to be Alberth's girlfriend following Vanesa's persistent efforts to reconnect and Alberth's firm take-it-or-leave-it proposal to be her boyfriend. Oh! did you see that coming? 😅
Alberth met Vanesa's parents
During his vacation, Alberth had the opportunity to meet Van's lovely family for the first time when he and his mom visited them twice. He then sought their blessings which were cheerfully given 😍
Alberth & Vanesa got engaged
Vanesa took a week-long getaway to the UAE during a weeklong holiday. They explored tourist attractions in Abu Dhabi and Dubai, where Alberth proposed to her in front of the iconic Burj Al Arab in the background. Despite the awkward and obvious-in-the-making proposal, Vanesa happily said yes—a wise decision, it would seem.
